Mumbai, August 17, 2007: IT and BPO Services organization Datamatics won the International Asia Pacific Quality Award at the World Class Level. Datamatics thus became the first and only services company in India to win the award. Datamatics competed against hundreds of companies across service categories from 38 countries like the US, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Canada, China, Israel, South Korea, Peru and Mexico.

Datamatics was placed at the highest World Class level in the Large Services Organization Category. The Award is administered by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO – www.apqo.org). APQO is an autonomous, non-political, non-profit, scientific and technical organization and is listed in the World’s Selected Quality Institutions. It is linked with fifteen other quality or standards organizations in the world. Its members include several hundred National Quality Organizations including the American Society of Quality as Core members, as well as Corporate and Individual members.

The winners are selected through the internationally-recognized Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award (MBNQA) model, the trained examiners used this criteria set by the MBNQA to evaluate organizations. Each company was evaluated on the seven elements: Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Human Resource Focus, Process Management and Business Results.

Dr L S Kanodia, Chairman, Datamatics, said, “This is one of the most remarkable achievements in the three decade-plus history of Datamatics, and ranks right at the top of all the accolades we won in the past. Two facts make this award significant: that Datamatics is the first Indian company in the services category to have won this award and that we won overcoming competition from hundreds of companies in such countries as US, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Canada, China, Israel, South Korea, Peru and Mexico.”

Dr Kanodia added, “The results of our efforts that went into winning this award are a reflection of the quality of our services to our clients and will be seen long into the future of Datamatics.”
