Mumbai, October 30, 2006: Nearly 140 meritorious Datamaticians were honored with awards recognizing their contribution to the growth of the organization in the past year. The awards were part of the 31st Datamatics Group Annual Day celebrations. Among the awards were Merit Award, Excellence Award, Special Award and Outstanding Achievement Award.

The Datamatics Merit Award is bestowed on staff members who have carried out their duties with exemplary dedication, reliably and diligently. The criteria include customer orientation and courtesy toward suppliers and colleagues. The Excellence Awards recognizes staff who have exhibited excellent performance, exemplary commitment and for being a team player. The Special Award is for making a special contribution to any of the businesses of the Datamatics Group, helping obtain national and international recognition, and achieving a significant milestone in productivity, quality, or business objectives. For the Outstanding Achievement Award, an employee should have made a significant impact on the business of a profit centre and must have exhibited outstanding leadership qualities.

Datamatics also saw a record number of employees receiving Long Service Awards for completing 10, 20, 25 and 30 years. Congratulating the awardees, Datamatics Chairman Dr Lalit S Kanodia, said, "You deserve every bit of what you won today. I must add that everyone here has the ability to win these awards. I know that because all our recruitment guidelines are so strict that everyone has the capacity and ability in them to win this award."

Dr Kanodia also exhorted Datamaticians to be even more competitive and to have a steadfast focus on their objectives. "We are living in very exciting times. I don't think any generation ever had the opportunity that we as a country or as a world have in front of us today. The world is not static. Everybody is fiercely competitive. If you are not competitive you are not going to win. So be fiercely competitive. And if you don't have focus, you can't do anything. It is too big a world, too specialized a world. All of you have the opportunity. The world is wide open for you to grasp and conquer. And conquer you will."
