Business Needs & Challenges

The client works with its preferred vendors for most of its keying and conversion to XML processes. However, it faced challenges with some of its other vendors in relation to quality and turn around time. To improve the quality of the output, the client required another core vendor to do a quality check for services on these projects.

Datamatics Solution

Datamatics proposed a proof of concept in this business area to be executed by the content management team based in Chennai, India. The major constraint identified was the language barrier. This was overcome by deploying Germany-based Datamatics professionals at the client’s location and by training India-based professionals on all concepts and processes. The scope of work now involved the following:

By working closely with the client, Datamatics was able to gain significant knowledge and understanding of the markup required for German legal documents in order to ensure compliance with customer’s DTD. This has helped Datamatics to undertake projects that involve conversion from source DTD to target DTD.

The success of this project in terms of turn around time and quality has helped us expand our scope of business with the customer, especially on the German language front. This experience has also enabled us to successfully complete various projects for several publishing companies in other European countries.
