The Client

One of the top 5 banking institutions in the USA and among the top 20 Fortune 500 companies, the client has an extensive branch of networks in United States, with over 5,800 locations covering 30 states. The bank had an employee strength of over 175,000 during 2004 and posted total revenue of over $85 billion for the last financial year.

Business Needs

The bank was looking for a technology solution which could automate the end-to-end transaction processing process including – scanning at onsite, electronic transfer to offshore and rules driven transaction processing between offshore and onsite teams.

Complementing the existing mainframe-based core banking system within the bank, from a process efficiency standpoint was one of the key requirements being looked at. The solution was also being looked up as an enabler for the onsite process owners to have a real time view of the offshore processing statistics such as productivity, conformance to SLAs, process bottlenecks, etc. over a web enabled application.

Datamatics Solution

Datamatics leveraged its expertise in implementing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions based on FileNet Panagon suite of products. It suggested a distributed yet seamlessly integrated business process management solution to the bank. The images were scanned and committed into the repository, which were then triggered by the workflow for further processing.
