Business Needs & Challenges
Datamatics developed a web based solution, Reservation and Table Management (RTM), with multi-lingual support to enable Table Service Restaurants to manage reservations and tables. In addition to core features of managing reservations and tables, it allowed restaurants to capture and maintain information on their guests' preferences, special requests and ordering history. These features helped a restaurant provide customized services to its clientele.
Datamatics Solution
The Datamtics team provided a GUI-based user interface with table layouts and a table layout editor through which a host / hostess could select a table, seat guests and visually monitor the state of tables. The solution has an optional interface to a well-known POS solution, which allowed for two-way real-time status updated between the POS and the RTM solution. It also has a paging facility through which customers could be updated on the status of their service. The solution can be deployed in a single restaurant or across an enterprise, and ensures synchronization across the enterprise by employing an innovative, custom-built database replication mechanism using .NET Web Services.
